Yes, I know this isn't Florence

Jeans

Sorry, Mr. Dutton, but I was unable to go to Vinci this weekend! I was so sick Saturday that I couldn’t even walk to the supermarket for more milk! However, as make-up for my absence on the field trip, I’ll be required to go there on my own before midterm. I feel moderately better today—at least I got rid of that fever!
Today was my first outside since Friday. I went to class, the Mercato Centrale, the supermarket, and shopping for a new pair of jeans. I also need to buy a belt so I can start wearing my American ones again. Upon my discovery that I had lost another ½ inch off my waist, I decided that I could now safely wear skinny jeans without doing permanent damage to anyone’s retinas. So that is what I purchased at a store called “Zara” very nearby the Piazza della Signoria. They also had some nice shoes but I decided that the streets of Florence would be no friend to suede so I didn’t purchase them. Last week I bought a green jacket and skirt at a store called “Nuna Lie,” near Santa Maria Novella. That is the extent of my shopping thus far.
Tomorrow I have my meeting for the Duomo tours! I should probably get to finishing up the reading I need to do for it!

Zara is a Spanish chain--I shopped there in Paris and London. I do think they have cute stuff and it's relatively inexpensive!

I'm glad that you finally thinking of buying a belt, like I told you for a long time.

Yeah, I noticed that pretty much all of the labeling was in English and that most of the clothes were actually made in Turkey. That took a lot of the guess-work out of the shopping! I think it was about as expensive as the Banana Republic, once you figured in the euro-dollar exchange rate. So, not too bad, really.
